AM: Class 1 - Session 10

4 September 2008

Here’s the blocking pass of my character walk. I chose a hesitant chick type walk and modified Ballie appropriately. It’s been extremely challenging as there is very little animation reference I can find in my books. I did find some pretty good live action and filmed myself, so that’s been helping a great deal! This week’s pose was EXHAUSTION!

28 August 2008

Wow, this is going really quickly!

Here`s my vanilla walk on the ball all splined out. Some big takeaways were to try and eliminate as much knee popping as possible, check out page 108 on the Survival kit every few minutes and ensure you are VERY happy with the root movement before proceeding to feet and knee polish.

AM: Class 1 - Session 8

20 August 2008

After being a little burned by how complex my assignment was last week, I’ve taken the K.I.S.S approach for the simple walk block we’re doing this round.

16 August 2008

Oh my…I kind of hooped myself with the setup for this tailor overlap assignement, but I learned a shitload with the amount of problem solving required.

Overlap time. I’ve usually muddled through this fairly well previously, but a sustained, complex overlap assignement is pretty taxing. I ended up needing to simplify things and keep those nice c-curves happening.

AM: Class 1 - Session 5

27 July 2008

The work is beginning to mount, I’m tackling the squash and stretch ball in an obstacle course, and following it up with a Stu pose of ‘Devastation’. Should be a lot of fun! I’m very happy to get the squash and stretch ball, it will really help alleviate the strobing you get with the regular ball.

AM: Class 1 - Session 4

22 July 2008

This week’s assignment is to have a light ball and heavy ball interact. My planning is a bit of a dog’s breakfast, but I’m off to a good start. Those small settles into the divots are super hard. I think the takeaway thought here is that it’s usually the small movements which are more difficult.

AM: Class 1 - Session 3

14 July 2008

Ok! So I’m working on a stu pose that expresses excitement, and my first bouncing ball. Threw together some sketches from real life and my good friend google images.
